Custodian series
The Custodian series honours Lieutenant-General Sir Hudson Lowe, the British officer who became one of the most intriguing figures connected to Napoleon's final years. Knighted by King George III and recognised by both Czar Alexander I of Russia and Field Marshal von Blücher of Prussia, Lowe represents Great Britain and the Coalition within the Brothers of the Sabre Line.
His connection to cigar history came later, when he was appointed Governor of St Helena and entrusted with the custody of the exiled Napoleon. As Napoleon's Custodian, Lowe was also responsible for providing cigars to the former Emperor during his years on the island.
Cigar description
Blended for Casdagli Cigars by Hendrik Kelner Jr. at the Kelner Boutique Factory, the Custodian blend combines rare Zimbabwean tobacco with fillers from the USA and the Dominican Republic. This distinctive combination delivers deceptive strength, with rich notes of molasses and espresso developing on the palate.
The Toro, one of today's most popular vitolas, was a natural addition to the Brothers of the Sabre Line. Its proportions allow the complexity of the selected tobaccos to unfold particularly well, showcasing the character of the blend while delivering a rich body with an underlying strength.
An Ecuadorian wrapper and Dominican binder complete the blend.
